Coatings
Preparation is key to successful application of ceramic coatings to bodywork and wheels. Your car will be treated with a clay bar to remove surface contaminants such as bird droppings, tree sap and tar. Once applied, a ceramic coating will protect your paintwork for up to two years, potentially longer if your car is garaged. And, as a bonus, your car will be much easier to clean and will stay clean for longer after every wash.

New Car
Protection
Car dealers offer new car protection packages at special rates. Unfortunately, coatings are often applied without the necessary surface preparation. This means that surface contaminants such as tar, glue residue from covers and iron fallout from rail transport are effectively sealed into the bodywork. Once sealed in, these contaminants can usually only be removed by machine polishing, and sometimes wet sanding is necessary.
With SHarper Detailing, all traces of transport residue are meticulously removed and the surface is prepared by machine polishing. It is only after these steps that a ceramic coating is applied.

Polishing
You will be amazed by how much your paintwork can be improved. Most scratches are in the top clear coat above the base paint and can be removed. Once scratches and swirls have been removed the surface is refined to provide a greater depth of shine.
A two or three stage polish will produce a show car finish and eliminate the ‘orange peel’ appearance of most factory paint finishes.
For cars with more defects, SHarper Detailing can even go as far as wet sanding, utilising a paint depth gauge to ensure that the cutting process is safe and does not burn through the paint.

Body
Undersealing
Cars in the UK are subject to harsh conditions each winter with salt covered roads. This results in corrosion to unprotected parts of the underbody and, although not likely to cause issues for vehicles when new, it can result in more serious problems as a car gets older. Even on new vehicles, exposure to salty roads soon makes exposed alloy suspension components look unsightly. Pressure washing quickly cleans the underbody of vehicles and the application of Bilt Hamber anti-corrosion hard wax keeps the rust away whilst improving the overall appearance. Body undersealing though is best undertaken when a car is brand new and this can be included in a new car protection package.
